Tu Nguyen is
a registered patent attorney at the United States Patent
and Trademark Office. Prior to founding Finch & Nguyen PLLC,
Tu was associated with the national intellectual property
law firm of Fish & Richardson
P. C. in Boston for seven years.
Tu
Nguyen received his Juris Doctor from Franklin Pierce
Law Center, a Doctor of Philosophy degree in inorganic
chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
and a Bachelor’s
degree in chemistry from University of California,
Berkeley. His graduate research focused on synthesis
and characterization of solid state materials having
unusual electronic and magnetic properties.
Tu Nguyen has managed and handled all aspects
of preparation and procurement of U.S. and foreign
patent applications. His technical expertise includes
advanced materials (such as alloys, ceramics, polymers,
and composites) and their applications (such as in medical
devices, e.g., stents,
minimally invasive devices, and spinal implants,
batteries, fuel cells, electron multipliers, inks, and
bone graft formulations). He has also counseled clients
on patent protection strategy and patent portfolio development,
provided legal opinions relating to patents, and conducted
due diligence studies for acquiring clients.
Tu and his
children live in Melrose, Massachusetts.
